After hearing about interest from students and staff, the SSC helped coordinate an MIT “Hub” (a group of 10+ attendees traveling together) of community members interested in mobilizing together for the 2023 NYC Climate March (March to End Fossil Fuels). We raised funding (up to $100 for the first 13 confirmed attendees) to ensure that more students could access this event—a big shout out to the UA Travel Grants Fund and the PKG Center for their support!
Note: while the SSC helped coordinate the MIT Hub, the SSC itself did not participate or endorse the march as a group as per our governance policy as a coalition. MIT also did not officially endorse the march or Hub.
